But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and the torment of death shall not touch them. In the sight of the unwise they seem to die: and their departure was taken for misery. And their going away from us, for utter destruction: but they are in peace. And though in the sight of men they suffered torments, their hope is full of immortality. Afflicted in few things, in many they shall be well rewarded: because God hath tried them, and found them worthy of himself.

                                                                                                                                            Wisdom of Solomon Chapter 3 Verses 1-5

THE NATIONAL ANTHEM
VERSE 3

O thus be it ever, when free men shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just.
And this be our motto, "In God is our trust".
And the star spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

GIVE PEACE IN OUR TIME

Give peace in our time, Lord, O send us peace in our time,
Because there is no other, Thou alone can'st save us
On Thee do we call, Holy Father.

Help us now, O God of our salvation, Father wilt Thou hide Thyself forever?
From the depths we call, O help us when sin assaileth, Great Jehovah!
In Thy mercy, O hear us, Hear our cry, O thou God of our salvation.

Hear us, and forgive us our sinning. Rise, thou Day-star, send light to Thy children.
O Holy Spirit, grieved and tried, So oft forgotten, oft denied,
How do we mourn our stubborn pride.

Lord hear our crying, we beseech Thee,
Hear us, Lord God! Hear us, Lord!
Have mercy on us! Give peace in our time.
Amen, Amen.

                                                                               Tschaikowsky - Winslow

O PRAISE YE THE LORD
(Psalm 150) Adapted.

Alleluia!
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his temple:
Praise Him in the firmament of His power.
Praise Him for His mighty acts: praise Him according to His Majesty.
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet praise Him with the lute and the harp. Praise the Lord with timbrel, praise the Lord with the dance, with organ and string praise the Lord forevermore.
Let your praises resound upon the loud cymbals.
Yea, give praise to His Name upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let ev'rything that hath breath, praise the Lord
O praise ye the Lord. Alleluia!

                                                                                         Cesar Franck

INTERCESSORY HYMN

Father Omnipotent! Protect us, we pray Thee.
Save Thou our native land from those who would betray Thee;
God, keep Thy children free, no other help have we,
O Great Deliverer, be our strength and stay

Judge Thou our cause, O Lord, in mercy befriend us!
Thou, only Thou art righteous, by Thy grace defend us;
Bind up the hearts, that bleed; guard us in time of need;
Hear us, we humbly plead! In Thee we trust.

Send out Thy truth and light, the world round victorious!
Shine thro' the nation's soul in honour yet more glorious!
Strong with Thy spirit's might, aid us in freedom's fight:
Lord God, defend the right, for evermore! Amen.

                                                                                      Edward German
