This is located through the “Phillip’s Beach Farm,” about two miles east from Swampscott Station on the Marblehead road. It has but very recently been opened to the public. It promises to be one of the most beautiful and attractive spots on the shore. Rev. Mr. Clark’s residence is on this “Farm.” E. H. Payson, Esq., Cashier, Commercial Bank, Salem, also resides here. Mr. Woodford’s “Family Boarding School” is here and the following gentlemen from Boston and Salem have purchased “lots” on this “Avenue,” with the intention of building houses and laying out the grounds tastefully thereabouts:

Wm. R. Lawrence, M. D., Boston; Addison Child, Esq., Boston; Stephen Dow, Esq., Woburn; Wm. Courtis, Esq., Marblehead; E. H. Payson, Esq., Salem; Robert Brookhouse, Esq., Salem.

There is no spot on this shore that offers a finer opportunity for a yearly or summer residence than may be found on this fine old Farm.
“Phillip’s Beach” bounds this “Farm” on the ocean. Expresses and omnibuses run directly by this estate daily.
