BOUNDARIES OF WARDS IN LYNN.


     WARD 1. - To commence at the bridge at the west end of Spring Pond, and to run to Mansfield’s Hill, thence in the direction of Forest Rock, in Pine Grove Cemetery till it intersects the line running north 65 (degrees) west, to Dungeon Rock; thence on said line to Dungeon Rrock; thence west to Saugus line; thence on Saugus line to Lynnfield line; thence on Lynnfield line and Danvers line to the point whence it started.

     WARD 2. - To commence on Chestnut street at the bridge near the house of the late John Clarrage; to run westerly to the point where Maple street intersects the Salem Turnpike; thence north-westerly to Forest Rock, in Pine Grove Cemetery; thence north 18 degrees west till it intersects the line of Ward 1; thence south 65 (degrees) east, till it intersects the line drawn from Forest Rock to Mansfield’s Hill; thence north-easterly to Mansfield’s Hill; thence to the bridge at the westerly end of Spring Pond; thence south-easterly on the Salem line till it intersects the line of Ward 3; thence on the line of said ward to the bridge in Chestnut street, where it started.

     WARD 3. - To commence on the seashore, at the Swampscott line, and to run on the shore westerly to a point that would intersect with the continuation of Atlantic street with the ocean; thence through the centre of Atlantic street to a pump at the head of Chestnut street; thence on a direct line to Newhall’s court, passing through the centre of said court to Essex street, to include all the houses in Chestnut street, and all (if any) that it may intersect in passing to Newhall’s court; thence northerly to a bridge in North street, near the house of the late John Clarrage; thence north to Salem line, thence by the lines of Salem and Swampscott to the sea.
     WARD 4. - To commence at the pump at the head of Chestnut street, to run south-east through the centre of Atlantic street to the ocean, thence by the shore to the Nahant line; thence westerly by the Nahant line and the shore to the western end of the Railroad House; thence north-westerly to the bridge at the head of Harrison court; thence northerly on a direct line to the magazine in Rocks pasture; thence north-westerly to the point that Maple street intersects Salem turnpike, from thence to bridge near the house of the late John Clarrage, and from thence on the westerly line of Ward 3 to pump at head of Chestnut Street.
     WARD 5. - To commence at the bridge at the head of Harrison court, in Market street, and to run to the westerly end of Railroad House; and continue the shore round till it intersects the line of Shepard street continued to said shore; thence northerly to the house of the late Kimball Ramsdell, (including said house and the western side of Shepard street); thence to the west end of the house of the late Micajah Newhall; (and all houses intersected by this line to be in Ward 5); thence to the westerly end of Capt. Bubier’s house; thence to the easterly side of Lover’s Leap, to the northwest corner of J. C. Stickney’s ground, (and all houses intersected by the lines from said Newhall’s house to belong to Ward 6); from thence north 18 degrees west till it intersects the Salem Turnpike; thence to the Magazine in Rock’s pasture; thence to the bridge at the head of Harrison court, (and all houses intersected by this last line to be in Ward 5.)
     WARD 6 - To commence at the westerly end of the late Kimball Ramsdell’s house, and run to the shore; on the westerly line of Ward 5; thence to continue on the shore round to Fox Hill bridge; thence to follow the stream to Chase’s mills; thence to follow the stream till it intersects Boston street at the foot of Generals Hill; thence northerly to the westerly end of J. G. Perley’s house, and William Mulliken’s house, to Saddler’s Rock; thence north 18 degrees west to Dungeon Rock; thence south 65 degrees east of the corner of Ward 5; thence south 18 degrees east to the north-west corner of J. C. Stickney’s land; thence southerly on the easterly side of Lover’s Leap to the house of Capt. Bubier; thence to the house of the late Micajah Newhall, (and all houses intersected by the last two lines to be in Ward 6,) thence to house of the late Kimball Ramsdell.

     WARD 7 - To include all the inhabitants west of Ward 6, and south of Ward 1.
