Persons received to the church either by a letter from another church, or on profession of faith, have first an interview with the Standing Committee of the church, to whom they five some account of their views and Christian experience. And if this is satisfactory to the Committee, they are propounded to be received by the church; and at least two weeks must intervene between the time of their propounding and the time of admission. Those who are received by letter are received by simple vote of the church on the letter without a public acknowledgement of the confession of faith. Page 14---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whereas, not a little embarrassment is felt from the negligence of members removing from this place, and not removing their church relations, Voted, That it shall be a standing rule of this church, that after members have been absent five years, without removing their relation, they be addressed on the subject, by the Pastor or the clerk of the church, with a view to secure such a removal, provided the residence of such persons be know; and in the case no satisfactory answer be obtained, or in case their place of residence cannot be know, their names shall be stricken from the list of members. Provided, also, that in case it shall afterwards appear that the delinquency resulted from causes satisfactory to the church, and that the member had sustained a fair Christian character, his relations may be restored by vote of the church. Voted, that when letters of dismission are given to members of this
church, it will be considered that such person are no longer members,
unless notice is given to this church within one year from

Voted, That it shall be the duty of the Clerk, every year, in January, to revise the list of members, involving a consideration of the case of nonresidents, and that a new list of members be printed every year. N.B. - This pamphlet will be sent to non-residents, so far as their address can be ascertained, that they may be informed of our rules, and govern themselves accordingly. If any are so situated that there are special reason for their retaining membership here, while residing abroad, such reasons will be considered by the church if the members will inform us of them.
